Graduating in Business Administration from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas in São Paulo in 1983, Stella Villares began her career in large companies such as Citibank, Krupp Polysius and Arthur Andersen Systems Consulting. However, she realized that her passion for innovation and entrepreneurship would find better expression in self-employment. Stella Villares explored her love of art by working in galleries and cultural projects, including coordinating the staging of the São Paulo Biennial.
After completing a postgraduate degree at the London College of Communication, she focused on graphic design, with clients such as Embraer, Hewlett Packard, Gillette, Deutsche Bank and Visa, among others. With the advent of online technology, Stella Villares adapted from print design to web and app design. After founding startups in this field, she moved on to a partnership with Barn Investments, investing in eco-friendly agri-tech businesses. During this period, Stella also took over the management of his family’s farm, where she grows sugar cane and soybeans.
In 2021, Stella Villares took on the role of Special Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. At the same time, she completed a postgraduate program aimed at training board members at the St. Paul Business School in São Paulo.
In 2024, began working as an advisory board member at the YouUp Institute in Brazil, as well as at a new startup located in Silicon Valley.
Stella Villares has been a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since January 2024.
