Renata Ramalhosa has more than 25 years of professional experience in the areas of governance, economic diplomacy, strategy, sustainability, innovation, diversity, culture and corporate governance. Renata’s career spanned across the globe, namely the United Kingdom, Portugal, France, Brazil and Latin America.
In 2019, Renata founded Beta i-Brasil, a global consultancy focused on innovation. In addition to being CEO of Beta i-Brasil, Renata is also a member of the IBGC Innovation Commission, a role she has held since 2020.
Throughout her career, Renata was a member of the Advisory Board of the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and held various positions at the Department of International Trade (DIT), namely Director for Investment in Latin America. She was also Director of UKTI (UK Trade & Investments), working to promote British companies in the Portuguese market and in several other Portuguese-speaking countries, such as Angola, Mozambique and Brazil, and also Commercial Director of the British Embassy in London. In addition to these functions, Renata was also a member of the board of the British Diplomatic Mission in Brazil, having received the decoration of honorary officer of the most excellent order of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
In the field of journalism, Renata Ramalhosa also stood out as a guest columnist in Época Negócios, Grupo Globo’s leading business magazine.
Regarding her academic background, Renata has a degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Aveiro, completed a Bsc in Environmental Engineering at the University of Greenwich, an MSc in Environmental Management and Economics from the Imperial College of London, a course in Executive Education and Economics for FCO from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a course in Executive Education, Leadership and Personnel Management at Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa.
