Milene Luís has a degree in Political Science from the Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon. She has recently completed a master’s degree in Communication Sciences also from the Institute of Social and Political Sciences, with a dissertation focused on political communication of emerging parties in the Portuguese political scene.
During the course of her master’s degree, Milene interned at the Directorate-General for Health, developing mostly online communication dedicated to issues related to the Covid-19 pandemic, such as vaccination, protection mechanisms, among other issues relevant to the population during one of the biggest peaks of the pandemic in 2021. Later, still during her master’s period, Milene interned at the Lisbon offices of a Spanish multinational communication agency – ATREVIA -, where she performed press relations and influence management functions for several brands of national and international recognition of distinct areas, namely, food, retail, beauty, real estate, health. During her time at ATREVIA, she was also involved in the dissemination of European Commission projects related to environmental safety, sustainability, education and youth.
Milene Luís is part of the executive team of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since September 2022.
