Manuel Bento is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Euronext Group, based at the group’s headquarters in Paris. Responsible for the Operations and Technology teams, he leads operations that include several European stock exchanges and a wide range of companies.

His career has been linked to technology and engineering, with diverse experience in sectors such as telecommunications, consulting and, more recently, the financial sector. Manuel has had an international career, working beyond Portugal in countries such as Brazil, Spain and, currently, France.

In his current position, as well as being the group’s COO, Manuel holds management positions at Euronext N.V. in the Netherlands, NordPool in Norway, and three technology companies belonging to the group, located in Portugal, France and Italy.

He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. He has also enriched his professional profile with executive training at various universities, including Harvard Business School, MIT, Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB), INSEAD, Instituto Superior Técnico and Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

Manuel Bento has been a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since February 2024.
