Luís Pais Correia received a PhD in Civil Engineering from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, holds a MBA from Portuguese Catholic University and he is a chartered Civil Engineer from IST-Lisbon.

Luis is a Senior Operating Partner at Ara Partners, a Global Private Equity based in the US and Ireland focused on industrial Decarbonisation investments. In that role he is Chairman and sits on the Board of several companies present in Europe: Px group, Anesco, Petainer, Aloxe and others. Prior to this he was Partner & Founder of Aksiom Partners Ltd, a company based in Dublin dedicated to high added value Investments in the Industry, Energy Services and infrastructure sectors.

He is also a Non-Executive Director of GETEC GMBH, an European leader in Energy Services for Industry, an institutional investors’ property advised by JP Morgan Asset Management and of Jernbro Industrial Services, based in Sweden and owned by funds managed by Blue Water Energy llp.

Between 1998 and 2014, he was Executive Vice-President of Dalkia, Veolia Group; CEO of NAMEA (Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Benelux, Scandinavia, Middle East, Asia including China, and Australia); responsible for a business turnover of over 2 billion € and 15.000 staff.

Luis has been an executive and non-executive Board member in companies in the last 30 years, being also a member of several organisations such as the Portuguese Institute of Corporate Governance.

Luís Pais Correia is one of the founders of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, being a member since 2012.
