Júlia Carvalho leads IBM Infrastructure business in Middle East and Africa, where she is responsible for IBM’s business of cloud platform, servers, storage and technology services, growing the partner ecosystem and driving client satisfaction across MEA. Underpinned by IBM sales plays and working with clients and the ecosystem partners, the focus is on deploying IBM’s advanced technology capabilities on AI and hybrid cloud to support national strategic roadmaps towards digital transformation in every sector of the market. Previously she was the General Manager for IBM Africa Growth Markets, overseeing all IBM business in the African continent, not including Egypt and South Africa. She has extensive experience in the IT and energy industries, with 20 years of international and regional management experience in Africa.
She holds a Master and a PhD in Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon, Portugal, and has completed several executive programs in Financial Management and Energy, from MIT Sloan Executive Education in the US, Texas A&M in the US, and Catholic Lisbon School of Business & Economics in Portugal.
Júlia Carvalho has been a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since December 2023.
