Joana de Almeida is a PharmD,  Founder of Portuguese Business Council in Abu Dhabi and PhD researcher. Before this Joana was a pharmaceutical industry executive, working from regulatory affairs, medical affairs and market Access at UCB Pharma, MSD, and AstraZeneca.

Born and raised in Portugal, Joana brings a global world view to her work in both the corporate and non-profit worlds.

She holds post degrees in Political Science & International Relations; Health Products & Pharmaceutical Regulation; Pharmacy & Drugs ‘Law & Ethics.

She’s currently a PhD candidate on digital health public policy making, working along with the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi.

Joana de Almeida has been a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since January 2024.
