Carma Martins Fernandes is Professor of Portuguese at Camões – Institute for Cooperation and Language – Portugal, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris and Professor of Portuguese at the International School ICS, Paris. With a degree from the Lisbon School of Education, a Masters and a PhD from the University of Minho (Institute of Education), Carma Martins Fernandes has been developing, since September 2006, educational and interdisciplinary projects to promote the Portuguese Language and Culture. She was Pedagogical Director of the Pilot Project of the Belgais Association – Dramatic School of Music and Other Arts, from September 2006 to September 2009. Teacher in Warsaw, Poland for expatriate students of the American School of Warsaw (ASW), Teacher at the Institute of Iberian Studies and Ibero-Americans at the University of Warsaw from 2009 to 2014. Responsible for the education sector – Maison, Jeunesse et Culture (MJC) -Viry Châtillon – France from September 2014 to June 2015 and, since then, is a Portuguese Teacher at Camões; – Institute of Cooperation and Language, Paris, France and Professor of Portuguese at the International School of Paris (EIB Paris), where she develops projects to promote the Portuguese Language and Culture. Carma Martins Fernandes has participated in several seminars and congresses, has published two book chapters and texts in Books / Conference proceedings. She is also a member of CIEC – Research Center for Child Studies, University of Minho and a member of the AGRAFr Association des Diplômés Portugais, en France.
Carma Fernandes has been a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since December 2022.
