André Pinto, 46, is a Portuguese executive with a distinguished international career in the strategy consultancy sector. He has lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, since 2012 and outside Portugal since 2005. He is married to Elena, a Spanish national, and the father of three children: Marcos, Miguel and Inês.

With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, André also completed an MBA at the IESE Business School in Barcelona. He is currently Managing Director and Senior Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he has over 17 years’ experience. He leads strategic projects in various areas, particularly in the energy sector, with an emphasis on sustainability, renewable energies and clean solutions. Throughout his career, he has worked in various regions, including Lisbon, Malmo, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Santiago de Chile and currently in Rio de Janeiro. Before joining BCG, he gained professional experience at Tetra Pak.

Outside the professional environment, André is a tennis, surfing and photography enthusiast and is a Getty Images contributor. His passion for travelling and exploring new cultures is reflected in both his personal life and his professional career.

As an investor, André is involved in two main projects:

He is a partner in a blockchain technology start-up focused on mapping carbon in production chains.

He is also a partner in a company dedicated to financing projects to generate carbon certificates in partnership with indigenous communities.
