The General Assembly 2023 of the Portuguese Diaspora Council took place on April 28 and was held at Cascais Town Hall, next to the Council’s Headquarters
At the General Assembly, led by the Chairman of the Board of the General Meeting, Dr. José Manuel Durão Barroso, the activities of 2022 were reviewed and its consequent financial balance, an activity plan for 2023 and the respective budget were presented. With a positive opinion from the Statutory Auditor and with the undeniable support of the Counselors of Portugal in the World present, both physically and virtually, the 2022 accounts were unanimously approved, as well as the activity plan and proposed budget for 2023.
Subsequently, the Counselors present in Cascais, accompanied by the Chairman of the Board of the General Assembly and the Chairman of the Board of Directors, were received by H.E. the President of the Republic, at the Presidential Palace of Belém. In this audience, H.E. the President of the Republic showed satisfaction with the activities carried out in 2022 and expressed his expectations for the work that the Council should develop in 2023.
The year 2023 will be one of enormous activity on the part of the Council, with the mission to serve Portugal and the Portuguese people around the world.
