On 17 July 2023, the Diaspora Council held its Summer Meeting at Palácio Cidadela, in Cascais, which brought together the Board of Directors, the Advisory Board and Counsellors of Portugal in the World.
The President of the Board of the Council, António Calçada de Sá, started the Summer Meeting with an opening speech focused on the growth of the Portuguese Diaspora. He also made a balance of the activities that took place in the 1st half of this year and the objectives to be developed in the 2nd half.
The various Councillors present also had the opportunity to present their suggestions for the future and comment on ongoing projects:

The Summer Meeting was marked by the presentation of the new Regional Hubs – whose function is to energise the Council and strengthen the Diaspora’s activities in the world – announced by the Head of the Regional Hubs for America and Africa, Pedro Pereira da Silva, and the Head of the Regional Hubs for Europe and Asia, Paulo Morgado:

Latin America Hub – Manuel Macedo
Africa Regional Hub – Tony de Castro
Brazil Regional Hub – Renata Ramalhosa
Spain Regional Hub – Pedro Paulo Castro
Western Europe Regional Hub – Rui Faria da Cunha
Eastern Europe Regional Hub – Paulo Ribeiro
Asia and Oceania Regional Hub – João Graça Gomes
The day ended with a cocktail in the outdoor space of the Palácio Cidadela, followed by a dinner at the Cisterna restaurant attended by His Honour the Minister of Economy and the Sea, António Costa Silva and the Mayor of Cascais, Carlos Carreiras.
