On July 30, at O Clube – Secret Spot, in Monsanto, the Summer Meeting 2021 took place, bringing together 24 members of the Diaspora, for an assessment of the activities of the first half of 2021 and the perspective of new projects.
The Summer Meeting marked a new stage for the Diaspora Council, with the presentation of a new Board, led by a new president – António Calçada de Sá.
The meeting was attended by 24 members of the Diaspora, who assessed the Council’s progress in 2021 and reflected on the organization’s future needs, as well as its role in representing Portugal in the world. The meeting was marked by a message from His Exa. the President of the Republic and Honorary President of the Council, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who celebrates the mandate of Filipe de Botton, Founding President of the Diaspora and expresses his highest expectations for the new Directorate of the Council, which should make the Diaspora a “useful tool of economic, social and cultural diplomacy, at the service of the Portuguese State and the Portuguese people”. Also the Honorary Vice-President of the Diaspora Council, His Hon. the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Augusto Santos Silva, left a few words of appreciation for the Diaspora and its role in Portugal and in the world.
The session was closed by José Manuel Durão Barroso, Chairman of the Board of the General Assembly of the Diaspora Council.
The Portuguese Diaspora Council held its third Advisory Council meeting of 2024 on October 3rd. The meeting took place in the Sala do Futuro, located in the Town Hall of Cascais, and was attended by several members of both the Advisory Council and the Board.
The 2024 General Meeting of the Portuguese Diaspora Council was held on April 24th in the Sala do Futuro, of the Cascais Town Hall. The meeting was followed by a cocktail in the Salão Nobre.
The Portuguese Diaspora Council held its first Advisory Council meeting of 2024 on April 2nd at The Yeatman Hotel, marking the beginning of a new phase of strategy and planning.
