On January 25, the Spanish Regional Hub of the Portuguese Diaspora, in partnership with ECIJA, held a seminar entitled “The Impact of Tax Changes on Transfers of Residence between Spain and Portugal”.
The event, moderated by Pedro Paulo Castro, Coordinator of the Spanish Regional Hub, brought together leading figures, including the Portuguese Ambassador to Spain, João Mira Gomes, the President of the Board of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, António Calçada de Sá, the President of CEOE Internacional, Marta Blanco Quesada and the member of the Board of the Diaspora Council and Co-founder of Bridgewhat and head of ECIJA’s Technology Transactions, Paulo Morgado.
The participants shared their perspectives on bilateral relations between Portugal and Spain, highlighting strategic projects on the Iberian Peninsula, each country’s competitiveness factors, as well as their views on domestic politics and even artificial intelligence.
During the event, specialist lawyers Joana Cunha d’Almeida and Patricia Gómez-Cambronero also presented the impact that the legislative changes taking place in Spain and Portugal may have on transfers of residence.
